Infrastructure/Network Engineer

Position Summary

The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated Health personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Building, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining the Lyrebird SOE.
• Deploying the SOE to desktop devices using automation to further standardise infrastructure and environments.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and conducting regular maintenance and updates on SOE software to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support to end-users on desktop-related matters.
• Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other Health team members.
• Record and maintain files/information in accordance with Health policies.
• These duties may vary depending on the specific requirements of the Health.

Mandatory Requirements

• Linux desktop operating systems, particularly Debian-based distributions such as Ubuntu.
• Knowledge and experience in configuring and supporting a hardened desktop SOE.
• Knowledge and experience in SOE deployment automation and remote device management.
• The role is Canberra-based. Candidates must confirm their ability to perform the services at an Health location in Canberra.

Essential Skills

• Formal information and communications technology qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated skills and experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills.
• Self-motivated, able to use initiative, innovative and a strong commitment to achieve business objectives.
• NV1 security clearance, or ability to obtain one.
